This was a large retaining wall project situated on a small site in Lyttelton. 


The walls were a mix of both cast in situ concrete and shotcrete.
We also constructed the handrails and AC footpaths on this job.

This was a particularly enjoyable and rewarding job.

The scope was to build a timber ramp into the avon river that the public can easily launch canoes and other small boats.

This wall is located atop a steep cliff in Redcliffs, Christchurch. Because of the geography in the area excavation slow and expensive. CMS produced a single sided formwork design that minimized excavation and reduced costs.

Earthquake damaged bridge repair. The bulk of the work was on the ornate and curved concrete approach wall. The fromwork for this wall was as complex as you will see anywhere.

Replacement of earthquake damage retaining wall, asphalt footpath, kerb and channel, pedestrian handrail and chip-seal road along a 110m section of Whaka Tce in Christchurch.

This job is a 100m long in-situ concrete retaining wall. We worked as a subcontractor on this project and completed the job within two weeks.

SCIRT Project. This is a 10m by 1.8m high in-situ concrete retaining wall. Much of the work was in the excavation, back filling and reinstatement of the section of the private residence this wall is retaining.

CMS worked as a subcontractor for McConnell Dowell on this SCIRT project. This project was the first time this method had been tried in the Christchurch Rebuild. Because to the high quality finish of the concrete infills we installed the option to apply shot-crete to the entire wall was not required.

Cubacade is a century old concrete, steel, masonry and timber two story strucuture. This building has been removed from the earthquake prone building register and strengthened to 70% NBS

iPayroll (formally newspaper house) is a seven story concrete structure completed in 1977. This building was upgraded form 66% NBS to 97% NBS

Riverstone Rec Hall is a multi use building, as well as hosting indoor sports and wedding receptions the hall is also a civil defense building. Because of the buildings civil defense roll strengthening was a priority for the Upper Hutt City Council.

This is a new residential build we complete in 2012. This house has five different levels, high stud raking ceilings and a combination of concrete and timber foundations.

This job was a full remodel and extension to a 100year old residence in Lyall Bay. Recycled materials were used to retain the the character of this house while creating modern architectural living spaces, kitchen and bathrooms.

As well as building a large concrete retaining wall CMS fabricated and installed a crash barrier designed to withstand the impact of a vehicle.

IMG_1215.jpgFENDALTON BRIDGE - BALUSTRADE REPAIR AND REPLACEMENT

CMS was a subcontractor to McConnell Dowell on this SCIRT project. 60m of steel balustrade was removed from site, sand blasted, some damage was repaired, some damaged sections were replaced and the all painted by CMS. As well as the steel work on this job we also replaced concrete beams and made repairs to the approach beams.
