ENGINEERING/FABRICATION PROJECTS

GLENSTRAE RD - CRASH BARRIER

REDCLIFFS - CHRISTCHURCH - 2016

This barrier was built to SCIRT specifications and is designed to resist the impact of a vehicle.

The concrete wall that the barrier is fixed to was also built by CMS. This wall follows the steep and varying gradient of the pre existing carriageway. Because of the varying gradient careful surveying was required and each individual panel was unique.

A lot of effort went into the setup of each individual panel, this effort was rewarded during the install, each panel fitted easily into place.

Corrosion protection was hot dip galvanising, done locally.

Our certified welders were responsible for fabrication and assembly on this project.

FENDALTON BRIDGE - BALUSTRADE REPAIR

FENDALTON - CHRISTCHURCH - 2015

This job was located on a busy road intersection on the corner of Fendalton Rd and Deans Ave in Christchurch.

The job involved deconstruction of a large steel balustrade and removing it from site for repairs, sand blasting and corrosion protection. Removal and replacement of damaged concrete beams and crack injection.

This job made good use of our in-house engineering skills. Sandblasting the balustrade revealed many previous substandard site repairs, crash damaged sections and heavy corrosion. Large sections were replaced and minor repairs were carried out over much of the balustrade.

Corrosion protection was applied and the balustrade installed.

CMS carried out all physical site construction and fabrication in-house for this project with excellent results.
